How to redeem an Apple Gift Card
The code tops up your Apple Account balance. From then on that balance pays for purchases and subscriptions - you do not enter the code again.
On iPhone and iPad
- 1Open the App Store.
- 2Tap your photo or account icon in the top right corner.
- 3Choose “Redeem Gift Card or Code”.
- 4Enter the code manually or point the camera at it - scanning is built into the same screen.
- 5Done: the amount is added to your Apple Account balance.
The code is only accepted by an account set to the Kazakhstan region. You can check the region in your Apple Account settings.
On a Mac
- 1Open the App Store and click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- 2Choose “Redeem Gift Card”.
- 3Enter the code and confirm.
In a browser
If no Apple device is at hand, the code can be redeemed on Apple's gift card redemption page. You will need to sign in to the same Apple Account the card was bought for.
Where to see the balance
The balance is shown in your Apple Account settings next to the payment methods. Purchases draw on it first, and only the remainder is charged to your bank card.
If the code is not accepted
- The account region is not Kazakhstan - a card from another region will not work.
- A typo: a zero and the letter O, a one and an I look alike. Copying the code from the order page is safer.
- The code has already been redeemed - check the balance, it may have worked the first time.
- Nothing helped: contact support with your order number and a screenshot. A code that does not work gets replaced.
